There was still some more things left to do before the body should be able to be removed.
I cut around the rear suspension bolt that was in the way:
I then cut around the footwells to allow them to remain in place while the body was being lifted. Unfortunately, this didn't photograph that well!
The windscreen was bolted through the chassis - and the nuts weren't readily visible, so I cut some inspection holes to allow me to get to the bottom nuts.
Later on, I found that you could get to them from underneath the car - however, there's not a lot of space and light...
With those removed, I then removed the handbrake (since this is bolted through the floor)
I then did some experiments trying to lift the body off the chassis. However, even if I (carefully!) jacked the floor of the inner skin, it was able to lift the side of the car. So, was the body bonded to the chassis?
A call to a mate of Mac's who specialises in composite materials we had an idea to heat the chassis/body/bonding material to allow them to separate. A hair dryer was proposed, but I've got something a little more meaty at home...
